Baptiste Horcholle is a French saxophonist and flutist with an international background, known for his modern and expressive approach to jazz. Originally from Nice, he began playing saxophone before continuing his studies at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, where he was awarded a scholarship. He also joined the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program, dedicated to supporting emerging jazz talents.
Throughout his journey, he has studied with influential artists such as Jason Moran, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Greg Hutchinson, and Shai Maestro, shaping a musical identity at the crossroads of improvisation, contemporary jazz, and modern influences.
Baptiste Horcholle regularly performs in iconic venues such as Duc des Lombards, Sunset/Sunside, and 38 Riv in Paris, as well as internationally in cities like Barcelona, Geneva, and San Remo. He has also appeared at major festivals including the Nice Jazz Festival, Bern Jazz Fest, and Jazz en Nord, collaborating with numerous renowned musicians.
Alongside his performance career, he teaches at the Lille Conservatory and leads educational initiatives such as the Rise! Sessions, supporting emerging artists and musical transmission.
On stage, Baptiste delivers elegant and immersive live saxophone and flute performances, combining technical mastery, freedom, and emotion. His musical universe, notably expressed through his project Tales of the Unforeseeable, stands out for its depth and contemporary vision.
