Formed in 2012 in the South of France, The Swingsons play Gypsy jazz and swing shaped by the Quintette du Hot Club de France of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Guitars, violin, double bass and vocals: the band performs from duo to quintet, in France and abroad.

From Gypsy jazz to today’s hits.

The world of The Swingsons

Over the years, the band has forged its own identity, between Gypsy jazz, the great American jazz standards and elegant covers of recent, popular songs. Its repertoire runs from Django Reinhardt to Charlie Parker, from Wes Montgomery to Stevie Wonder, George Michael or Gloria Gaynor: refined, warm music that speaks to every audience.

The Swingsons regularly play weddings, luxury hotels, restaurants, festivals and prestigious venues. Reception, cocktail hour, dinner or private party: their music slips naturally into every moment of the event.

From duo to quintet, a lineup for every event

The band picks its lineup to suit the venue, the atmosphere and the format of the event. The guitar duo, very compact, suits small spaces and intimate moments, with a gentler repertoire. As a trio, the two guitarists are joined by the violin, the double bass or the singer. The quartet of two guitars, violin and double bass comes closest to the spirit of the Hot Club de France, with a rich, rhythmic repertoire; it also exists with the singer, backed by the two guitarists and the double bass. The quintet, the fullest lineup, opens up even more musical possibilities.

A guitar and vocal duo with a pop and jazz feel is also possible, as are strolling performances when the project calls for it.

From Riviera festivals to grand hotels

The Swingsons opened for Chico & The Gypsies at the Arènes de Fréjus, in front of 6,000 people, and shared the stage of the Estérel Arena with Stochelo Rosenberg, in front of 600 people. They have played in Saint-Tropez, at Airelles Pan Dei Palais and the Pesquière party, at Jazz au Château in Cagnes-sur-Mer, at the Estivales of the Éco Parc in Mougins (1,000 people) and in Le Cannet, at the Saint-Raphaël Jazz Festival and the Salle Félix-Martin, and at Jazz à Villes-sur-Auzon. They also played the wedding of the daughter of Jean-Jacques Burnel, bass player of The Stranglers.

Their singer has solid experience in high-end hospitality, with performances at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues and The Woodward in Geneva, Cheval Blanc in Paris, the Lausanne Palace, the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, Les Airelles and, in Courchevel, Palais K2, Hôtel Annapurna, Manali and Écrin Blanc.
